- Your marriage must be registered for more than 2 years;
- Your marriage must be non-Muslim marriage;
- Both parties must agree to divorce and all the terms of divorce must be agreed upon; and
- Both parties must attend the Court hearing 1 time only.
What Is the Process of Divorce in Malaysia

- Both parties are required to attend the court for divorce hearing (1 time only usually). Take note the divorce hearing will be done physically or online (subject to the court’s direction).
- Parties must wait 3 months after the divorce hearing before divorce certificate will be issued (this can be shortened subject to valid reason).
- Our divorce law firm will update the JPN on the divorce status accordingly.
How Long Is the Divorce Process in Malaysia
If both parties agree to the divorce terms, the process can be finalized in less than 3 months (not including waiting period of 3 months for the divorce certificate after the divorce hearing mentioned above).
